Job Summary
Data & AI Governance Expert at Telenet responsible for designing, operationalizing and embedding data and GenAI governance across the organization. Key duties include defining policies and processes for data classification, ownership, quality, lineage, cataloguing and lifecycle management; enabling policy-as-code (e.g., policy scoring, AI risk assessment, metadata management); driving the data governance platform, including workflows and governance KPIs; overseeing AI/GenAI use cases, risk assessments and responsible AI controls; and collaborating with product, data, security and legal teams to ensure governance is practical and embedded in daily operations. Requires senior-level experience, a Masters in a quantitative field, and fluency in English and Dutch or French. The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, change management, and delivering measurable improvements in governance adoption and risk mitigation.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in data governance, information management or related domains
- Master's degree in a quantitative field (Business Engineering, Applied Economics, Computer Sciences, Information Management) or equivalent by experience
- Proven experience with enterprise data & AI governance platforms, including workflow configuration, training and driving enterprise-wide adoption
- Strong ability to translate policies into operational processes in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Fluent in English and Dutch or French
- Solid knowledge of data & AI legislation (EU AI act, GDPR, ...) and governance best-practices (metadata, quality, ownership, ...)
- Experience with AI/ML governance, model risk management or responsible AI is a strong plus
- Comfortable working with both technical and business stakeholders
- Pragmatic, impact-driven and able to make governance work in practice, not just on paper
- Willingness to be present in the office at least three days a week during the first six months
