Job Summary
Deliver frameworks and plans for strategic MarTech priorities, including personalisation, tiering, and targeted support. Own data pipelines for engagement activation within the cloud data warehouse and identify new use cases to improve client and commercial outcomes. Lead the Data Activation team, prioritising the backlog to align with commercial use cases while ensuring solutions fit architectural, compliance, and security patterns. Act as the primary liaison for the business, influencing journey tribes, product, engineering, and privacy stakeholders to land decisions and manage trade-offs. Manage budgets, vendors, and operating rhythms for the Data Activation function, maintaining governance and risk controls across competing demands.
Required Qualifications
- MarTech experience
- Led cross-channel activation using an Enterprise MarTech stack
- Experience ideally using Segment or similar
- Experience with an Engagement Platform (e.g., Braze)
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience within a regulated industry
- Ability to evidence uplifts in performance from work
- Developed innovative approaches to deal with personalisation, prioritisation, and engagement
- Built and led a multidisciplinary Data team (e.g., CDP/MarTech, digital marketers, analysts)
- Set vision and OKRs
- Coached capability
- Evidence of improved performance, team engagement, and career progression
- Owned requirements for activation-ready customer and event data products
- Owned models and pipelines
- Influenced and aligned journey tribes, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Privacy and Risk (and external agencies) to a single value-led roadmap
- Evidence of decisions landed, trade-offs managed, and OKRs delivered
- Comfortable working in Cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) to perform complex analysis
- Championed Privacy by Design across consent capture, preference management, suppression and PECR-compliant communications in a regulated environment
- Understanding of GDPR/UK PECR/FCA implications in campaign and data design
- Understands architectural principles for integrating first and third party systems
- Understands security, infrastructure, supplier capability mapping
- Managed budgets, vendors, and operating rhythm for Data Activation/Martech
- Set governance and risk controls
- Evidence of on-budget delivery, vendor performance to SLAs, and a predictable planning cadence across competing demand
- Connected first-party data to paid and owned channels (e.g., conversion APIs, server-side tagging, audience sync)
- Evidence of higher match rates, improved CAC/ROI and deliverability
