Job Summary
Dashboard / Business Intelligence Developer responsible for designing, building, and sustaining dashboards and reporting solutions that provide clear, actionable insights for leadership, program managers, and operational teams. Translate stakeholder needs into effective dashboard designs, implement solutions using Power BI or comparable tools, and create semantic models, measures, and calculations to support reliable reporting. Responsibilities include developing dashboards and visualizations that track KPIs, benchmarks, and performance trends; coordinating with data management and analytics teams to ensure data quality; performing testing/validation; and providing user training and ongoing enhancements. The role emphasizes storytelling with data, usability, and executive-level views with drill-down capabilities to support both high-level oversight and detailed analysis, with onsite work based in the Washington DC area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 5+ years of experience developing dashboards and BI solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Demonstrated experience designing KPI dashboards, benchmark reports, and executive-level visualizations
- Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and ability to present complex information clearly
- Experience with data models, measures, and calculations to support robust reporting
- Proficiency with SQL or similar data-prep tools
