Job Summary
Associate Veterinarian position at Danville Family Vet in Danville, VA. Provide high-quality veterinary care and exceptional service to pets and clients, develop treatment plans, perform surgery and dental procedures, prescribe therapies, maintain complete medical records, and educate clients on home care. Work within an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital with a collaborative, mentorship-focused culture and a strong emphasis on client relationships, ethics, and team growth. Requires DVM/VMD or equivalent and active state license; open to new graduates as well as experienced veterinarians. Flexible hours to support hospital operations; benefits include medical/dental/vision and 401(k).
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent, with an active or eligible state license
- Strong medical, surgical, and diagnostic skills across companion animal practice
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities
- Collaborates effectively in a fast-paced, client-centered environment
- Commitment to maintaining professional ethics, safety, and high-quality patient care
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely handle animals up to 130 pounds
