Job Summary
Respond to emergency and non-emergency ambulance requests to provide immediate care to the ill and injured. Check and monitor ambulance readiness, clearly communicate crew and vehicle positions, and transport patients in the wheelchair van when needed. Clean ambulances, utility vehicles, and crew quarters daily. Provide direction to EMTs while on calls. Requires an Illinois EMT license, driver's license, and completion of NIMS training within six months. Full-time 24-hour shift with on-call rotation.

- Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) License Illinois Upon Hire
- Driver's License Upon Hire
- National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 200 within 6 Months
- National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 700 within 6 Months
- National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 800 within 6 Months
- Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification within 6 Months
- Emergency Response to Terrorism (ERT) Certification within 6 Months
- A working knowledge of the EMS system
- Ability to work under the direction of a paramedic in a patient care setting
- Test into the Carle Regional EMS System
- Letter of good standing from the most recent EMS system worked
