Danish Reviewer/Editor/Certifier, DOJ LSS

Job Summary
The Reviewer/Editor/Certifier will support the DOJ with Translation, Interpretation, Transcription and other Linguistic Support Services. Tasks include translating documents and media, interpreting court/deposition proceedings, and handling highly specialized material across legal, medical, financial, and technical domains. Materials are sensitive and require strict confidentiality. Must have five years of recent experience in the required language with ILR 4+; U.S. citizenship or eligible status; at least one year in a legal or law-enforcement setting; ability to translate and edit while preserving tone and accuracy; maintain ethics and confidentiality; active Public Trust or higher clearance; remote work option with potential travel; locations include National Capital Region and other CONUS sites.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the required language with superior English and editing
- Qualifying ILR 4 minimum or equivalent on language/translation tests
- Must have lived 3 of the last 5 years in the U.S. (not necessarily consecutive)
- Must have at least 1 year of experience with a law enforcement and/or legal department
- Must be a U.S. citizen; Naturalized citizen; or Green Card holder with an SSN
- Know both English and foreign language vocabularies used in formal, legal, diplomatic, consultative, and casual modes of communication in various contexts, including slang and regionalisms
- Know specialized vocabulary in both English and the foreign language related to the Government’s varied roles and missions; possess research and analytical skills for terminology
- Write in their native language fluently with professional command of the non-native language
- Translate in a manner that is factually and conceptually accurate without changes, omissions, or additions
- Preserve the tone and register of source language materials
- Abide by relevant code of linguist ethics
- Clearance: Active Public Trust or higher security clearance
- Location: Remote / National Capitol Region / Various CONUS Locations
- Travel: Some travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience in the required language with superior English and editing skills
- Qualifying ILR 4 minimum or equivalent on language/translation tests
- U.S. citizenship, naturalization, or Green Card with SSN
- Experience in law enforcement and/or legal department
- Native fluency/write in the native language with professional command of non-native language
- Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in English and foreign language related to government roles
- Ability to translate accurately without changes, omissions, or additions
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethics in linguist work
- Active Public Trust or higher security clearance (required)
- Travel may be required
