Job Summary
Danish Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor delivers virtual distance-language instruction and regional/cultural lessons to support LREC programs. Responsibilities include providing instruction across Listening/Reading/Speaking, developing lesson plans, assessing learners from ILR 0+ to 3, maintaining a positive virtual classroom, and collaborating with Managers to address curriculum gaps. Requires US citizenship, native or near-native Danish proficiency (ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent), virtual-instruction experience, blended-learning capability, and access to required hardware and high-speed Internet. English qualifications must meet ILR/TOEFL/TOEIC/ECL/OPI standards, with target-language proficiency at ILR 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High. Desired qualifications include experience with online platforms (CL-150, Adobe Connect, Canvas, Moodle) and a Bachelor's Degree.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- Educated native speaker with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience in providing foreign language instruction through a virtual environment
- Understanding of cultural, social, political environment of the foreign language region
- Experience in creating blended learning lessons and tailoring materials
- Instructor must have access to computer with Windows, webcam, headset with microphone, cellular phone or smart tablet, and high-speed Internet
- English Language Qualifications: ILR 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High or equivalent or TOEFL/TOEIC scores as listed
- Target Language Qualifications: ILR 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High or equivalent; DLIFLC OPI or ACTFL-certified interview or Defense Language Proficiency Test
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience using online platforms such as CL-150, Adobe Connect, Canvas, and Moodle
- Experience instructing adult learners in L/R/S to DLPT/OPI standards
- Native or near-native proficiency in the target language (ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent)
- Proficiency in English qualifications (TOEFL/IELTS equivalents as listed)
- Ability to develop blended learning lessons and tailor materials
