Job Summary
Dance Teacher for Calvary Day School’s Company Dance program. Lead and develop the school’s technique-focused company dance ensemble across divisions, oversee day-school dance instruction, and coordinate performances and productions. Develop a vertically aligned dance curriculum from Early Learning Center through 12th grade, integrate biblical worldview and character development, and foster student leadership and artistic excellence. Collaborate with GHSA Dance Team coaches on scheduling and studio usage; assist in recruitment, retention, and community engagement for dance programming. Manage productions (seasonal concerts, recitals, chapel showcases), plan choreography and production logistics, and coordinate with parents, faculty, and staff. Maintain program administration and budget oversight, oversee the Fine Arts Academy after-school dance program, and lead annual productions. Requires background check and drug screen; flexible hours including evenings/weekends during performance seasons. Qualifications emphasize Christ-centered mission, leadership, and the ability to inspire excellence in the arts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Dance, Dance Education, Performing Arts, or related field
- Strong technical training in ballet and technique-based dance education
- Experience teaching dance in studio, school, or conservatory settings
- Experience directing dance productions, recitals, or performance ensembles
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic Fine Arts Department
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during performance seasons
- Commitment to fostering a Christ-centered educational environment aligned with the mission of Calvary Day School
