Job Summary
Choreograph routines and select music for whole-school performances while developing engaging lesson plans across beginner to advanced dance styles. Provide individual, small, and/or large group instruction to adapt curriculum for students with varying intellectual, physical, and special abilities. Evaluate student performance, make recommendations for improvement, and partner with families to ensure appropriate resources support their learning needs. Collaborate with grade-level teams on instructional strategies and differentiate instruction for every learner. Stay current in your discipline by updating routines and engaging in practice-based professional development. Teach the QCACS curriculum using Board-adopted resources in a supportive, family-like environment for scholars in grades K-12.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Certification as appropriate
- Certificate of Eligibility
- Valid New Jersey Certificate
- Proof of passing the required PRAXIS tests
- Cultural sensitivity
- Ability to communicate with parents and students across lines of difference
- Mastery of subject matter content
- Team-player mindset
- High expectations of students
- Solid understanding of child development
