Job Summary
Plan and teach developmentally appropriate dance classes for students of various ages under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor. Organize and supervise specific activities while ensuring program safety, efficiency, and compliance with all district policies and emergency response plans. Develop activity plans suited for children, take attendance, and deliver quality customer service with confidentiality. Prepare for and implement the annual spring recital and holiday dance show. Submit accident and incident reports immediately following any occurrence and maintain an organized session. Attend required staff meetings and complete incident report forms promptly.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 2 - 3 years teaching experience
- Minimum 8 years of dance experience
- Complete knowledge of a variety of dance techniques
- Ability to teach in any given class situation
- Certified in Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED within 3 months of hire
- Must be able to respond to and handle children's behaviors in a positive appropriate manner
- Must be able to follow directions
- Must have good verbal communications skills
- Must possess time management and organization skills
- Must have the ability to make judgments with respect to confidential information and problem solving
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Dance Education or related field
