Job Summary
Dance Instructor needed to develop and deliver a dance curriculum across Ballet, Modern (Cunningham, Horton, Graham or Limon), Improvisation, Composition, Repertory, Dance Skills, and Dance History. Will teach 2–3 classes/styles, plan and deliver lessons, foster an inclusive and creative classroom, provide feedback, encourage participation in performances, maintain records, and communicate with CREC staff and families. Requires a BS/BA in Education or a BFA with emphasis in relevant discipline (or equivalent), eligibility for CT Adjunct Arts Instructor Permit (certificate not required), and 20-hour schedule. Mentors students, participates in professional development, and adheres to CREC policies. Proficiency with Google Classroom and PowerSchool is preferred; benefits include comprehensive packages and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Education or a BFA with emphasis in appropriate discipline or equivalent required
- Eligibility for a Connecticut State Department of Education Adjunct Arts Instructor Permit is required
- Formal State of Connecticut Teaching Certification is not a requirement for this position
- Travel requirements include Driver's license or mobility for meetings and professional learning opportunities
