Job Summary
Teach dance courses to grades 9-12, develop engaging lesson plans/curriculum aligned with standards, choreograph and direct student performances, assess student learning, promote safety and proper technique, foster an inclusive classroom culture, and maintain studio equipment and materials. Collaborate with performing arts and academic colleagues, advise 8-10 upper school students, and participate in community events. Required: bachelor's degree in Dance/Dance Education or related field; minimum 3 years teaching experience. Preferred: master's degree in Dance Education or related field; proficiency in Google Suite; strong collaboration and cultural competency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Dance, Dance Education, or a related field is required
- A master's degree in Dance Education, a related field, or Education/Teaching is preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of prior teaching experience, preferably with high school-aged students
- Experience developing curriculum
- Proficiency in Google Suite
- Demonstrated cultural competency
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues across performing arts and academic departments
- Enthusiasm for serving as advisor for 8-10 students in the upper school and participating in community events
