Dance Coach

Lead and develop the UPA High School dance program. Plan and lead regular practices focusing on technique, choreography, performance skills, and physical conditioning. Develop and implement conditioning programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and overall fitness. Promote safe training practices and monitor student wellness. Foster leadership, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship; mentor students in personal growth and academic responsibility. Identify, register for, and coordinate participation in local dance competitions, showcases, and community events; prepare students for performances through consistent practice and skill development; ensure participants meet district eligibility requirements. Organize fundraising activities to support competition fees, uniforms, travel expenses, and program needs; collaborate with administration and school stakeholders to grow and sustain the program. Maintain regular communication with parents and school administration about schedules, expectations, events, and student progress. Attend coaches’ meetings, school events, and other required functions; submit requested documentation and reports in a timely manner. Be present and supervise all scheduled practices, performances, competitions, and team activities; arrive on time and ensure supervision until dismissal; maintain accurate attendance records. Requires experience coaching, teaching, or performing dance; strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to motivate and inspire high school students; experience coordinating events, performances, or competitions preferred; ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and administration; must meet all district and school requirements for coaching positions.
