Job Summary
Develop and implement dancing lessons that increase students' knowledge of art principles while maintaining a safe, trusting creative environment in the Dance Studio. Create class proposals, manage material lists and attendance, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the studio with the team. Communicate respectfully with students and parents, handle disruptive behaviors, and reinforce positive creative strides. Actively participate in promoting the Y-Arts program and work with instructors to plan and lead two recitals per year. Maintain required paperwork, attend mandatory trainings, and pursue learning opportunities related to art education and character development.
Required Qualifications
- A college degree related to the position's related art field
- Prior experience working directly with students in a dance education related environment
- Must complete online Bloodborne Pathogens, Employee Safety and Youth Protection Series trainings prior to initial assignment to position
- Must complete online Hazard Communication training within the first 90-days of employment
- Must attend and complete Listen First within 90-days of employment
- Ability to frequently stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, kneel, bend, reach, balance, crouch, climb and/or balance, reach with hands and arms, handle or feel, stoop, climb a minimum of two flights of stairs (approximately every 1/2 hour), lift/move and carry approximately 30 pounds, and use hands and fingers
- Special vision abilities required close, color, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

- Possess strong experience and skills in their given field of fine arts
