Job Summary
Underground Utility Locate Technician responsible for accurately identifying and marking underground utility lines within Cobb County to prevent damage during excavation. Uses computer maps and locating equipment to locate utilities (electrical, gas, communications) and marks locations with paint/flags. Drives to sites to respond to routine tickets and emergencies, may work overtime and weekends, and coordinates with excavation personnel. Requires valid driver's license, ability to work outdoors in all weather, and willingness to use mapping tools; offers benefits including a company vehicle, paid training, medical/dental/vision coverage, paid vacation/holidays, and opportunity for wage increases based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude: Utility Locating Experience is preferred but not required
- Utility Construction Experience is preferred but not required
- Outdoor work experience is preferred but not required
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must be able to use a computer
- Valid drivers license in applicable state of employment
- Must be able to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal work schedule
