Job Summary
Oversee daily Dairy Department operations by executing standard operating procedures for stocking, rotation, pricing, and inventory control. Ensure product quality and food safety through proper dating, storage, and shrink management while maintaining accurate, attractive merchandising aligned with guidelines. Support sales and gross profit goals by monitoring product movement and adjusting orders to meet seasonal needs. Provide knowledgeable customer service regarding dairy ingredients and dietary needs, collaborating with store leadership to deliver an exceptional experience. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe department including coolers and equipment in compliance with all regulations. Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper storage of refrigerated products
- Understanding of inventory control, shrink management, and merchandising standards
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Lifting: Up to 50 pounds frequently; up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Frequent reaching in all directions
- Long periods of standing, often in one spot
- Significant frequent pushing/pulling of heavy carts or pallet jacks
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a grocery, dairy, or perishable food department preferred
- Familiarity with natural and organic food products and common dietary considerations preferred
