Job Summary
Direct the Dairy Department operations by supervising and training personnel, managing backroom inventory, and overseeing ordering, receiving, and stocking procedures. Execute daily tasks including rotating and facing products, building displays, cleaning shelves, and processing outdated merchandise. Engage in suggestive selling while maintaining safe, friendly service standards and assist with grocery stocking, dry grocery order writing, and the reclamation process. May act as backup cashier. Requires strong leadership skills, ability to lift up to 80 lbs, and comfort working in cold cases, coolers, and freezers.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain composure in dealing with customers, vendors and co-workers
- Friendly, courteous, take initiative and maintain composure in dealing with customers, co-workers and vendors
- Ability to judge and react to business activity
- Knowledge of basic mathematics
- Ability to learn inventory control, pricing, merchandising, and shipping and receiving procedures
- Ability to lift, stack, and maneuver objects up to approximately 80 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks
- Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
- Ability to climb ladders
- Mental alertness for safe, accurate completion of work activities
- Compliance with Company policies including attendance, grooming standards and dress codes
