Job Summary
Oversees the overall operations and management of the LSU AgCenter Dairy Store in Baton Rouge, coordinating with administrative personnel to ensure sound financial controls and inventory management. Supervises staff, manages daily opening/closing, schedules, and pricing of food items, and handles in-store and online product sales including items associated with Chartwells. Coordinates tours and annual cheese orders, processes deposits, and maintains stock and supplier relations. Performs and oversees quality testing in the creamery, including Standard Plate Counts, Coliform Counts, Babcock fat testing, antibiotic residue testing, and yeast/mold testing of finished products, as well as Titratable Acidity testing on cheeses. Assists supervising faculty with ice cream and cheese manufacturing, packaging, and related production activities. Requires collaboration with faculty and staff to improve efficiency, inventory controls, and product quality while ensuring compliance with safety and financial policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree required, MS preferred
