Job Summary
Manage the Dairy Department to maximize sales and profits by directing clerks, overseeing presentation and sanitation standards, and controlling inventory to recommended stock levels. Process and stock products per Sprouts dairy standards, manage price changes, and ensure proper product rotation to control freshness. Lead team development through coaching, feedback, and bi-annual performance reviews while recruiting, hiring, and making promotion decisions with the Store Manager. Address team member concerns independently and document corrective actions as needed. Create and adjust schedules to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency. Perform general housekeeping, operate equipment including pallet jacks, and adhere to safety and food handler regulations. Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
- good communication skills
- ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment
- ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
- outgoing and friendly behavior
- positive attitude towards Team Members and customers
- ability to answer phones and take special orders
- ability to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
- knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
- ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
- ability to vertically transfer tray up to 5 lbs., from 7" to 64" for up to 10 hours
- ability to vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs., from 5" to 36", for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
- adherence to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Food Handlers permit
