Job Summary
Dairy Clerk responsible for stocking and maintaining dairy and frozen cases during business hours, assisting customers with purchases and product selection, and adhering to Dairy Department procedures. Responsibilities include keeping cases, storage, and work areas clean and safe; presenting and facing products; checking expiry and discarding spoiled items; ensuring tag/pricing accuracy; weighing and labeling products; monitoring point-of-purchase signs and promotional materials; and operating equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Requires strong product knowledge, customer service, cross-selling, and the ability to perform duties with physical stamina (lifting 40-60 lbs., standing/walking long shifts). Required Qualifications
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be dependable and reliable with ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Have and show mutual respect for others and maintain a high-level code of ethics
- Have a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
- Have good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
- Be able to perform repetitious activities and multi-task
- Be able to transfer boxes/crates weighing between 40-60 lbs., for distances up to 10 feet
- Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift
- Must use a 2 step stool to access shelves
- Be able to walk up to 3 miles per 8 hour shift
- Adhere to safety, health, OSHA and Weights and Measures regulations
- Be able to perform other related duties as assigned
Additional Requirements
- Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from using knives (beyond safety cutters), ladders, operating garbage/compactor, any motor/electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods
