Job Summary
Conduct group sessions with male and female detainees in the jail to support their mental health and substance use disorder recovery. Assist participants in articulating personal goals, developing recovery plans, and collaborating with case managers to achieve self-directed progress. Generate recovery reviews and performance documents to track rehabilitation while observing behavior and reporting any unusual incidents or conflicts to relevant professionals. Work under the supervision of the Program Manager to identify non-violent misdemeanor offenders needing services and coordinate referrals with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Peer Specialist Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social services related disciplines (Social work, sociology, psychology)
- WHAM Certified, Forensic Peer Specialist
- Previous experience working in a behavioral health care setting
