Job Summary
Facilitate structured group sessions for children and adolescents in a structured inpatient setting, promoting respect, confidentiality, and emotional safety. Lead discussions that encourage self-expression and active listening while teaching coping, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Monitor group dynamics to address conflicts or disruptive behaviors and assess participant needs by recognizing emotional distress or behavioral concerns. Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and psychiatrists to implement individualized treatment plans and support recovery goals. This Child and Adolescent Unit role requires strong crisis intervention and de-escalation abilities within a trauma-informed environment at River Edge Behavioral Health in Macon, GA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or another healthcare-related field
- Knowledge of mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders
- Understanding of co-occurring medical conditions and recovery-focused care
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively
- Satisfactory background clearance
- Pre-employment drug test
