Job Summary

Cytotechnologist II serves as shift lead in IU Health’s M-Pathology Lab, performing and supervising staining and microscopic evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens, interpreting cellular changes to identify malignant or pre-malignant conditions, assisting pathologists with procedures such as specimen collection (e.g., fine needle aspirations), participating in R&D activities, and potentially acting as cytology general supervisor. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or related field, 3+ years of Cytotechnology experience, and registration (ASCP/AMT/NCA or equivalent). Proficient in lab data entry and retrieval, with the ability to perform mentally demanding tasks and apply independent judgment across complex laboratory techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or related field
  • 3+ years Cytotechnology experience
  • Registered Cytotechnology (ASCP; AMT; NCA; or equivalent)
  • Proficiency at computer entry/retrieval of lab results
