Cytotechnologist

Screen and evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens sent to the laboratory for the determination of possible malignant or related abnormal conditions; screen liquid based cytology (manual/imaged) and conventional slides; perform microscopic evaluation following lab procedures; ensure workload documentation per CLIA and lab guidelines; maintain integrity and accuracy in reporting; assist with Fine Needle Aspirations; meet slide screening requirements; finalize results in the computer; provide backup for cytology processing; comply with safety, infection control and HIPAA policies; must be able to work independently and within a team; preferred Masters in Cytology and 3+ months of Cytology experience; certifications in ThinPrep and SurePath and automated/non-automated testing experience are a plus; role requires ability to pass slide screening and CAP proficiency tests; strong attention to detail, good communication and organizational skills; ability to handle physical requirements and overtime or other shifts as needed.
