Job Summary
Conduct identification and diagnostic evaluation of cytological specimens for abnormality, malignancy, or disease, signing out negative gynecological reports. Provide on-site adequacy evaluation for fine needle aspiration procedures and core biopsies, while supporting ancillary techniques and related interpretations. Assist in training new employees or students, perform quality control activities, and gather data for quality assurance and continuous improvement projects. Partner with team members to foster an inclusive environment. This role requires a Cytologist or Specialist in Cytology certification and a Florida license, with a starting salary of $38.71 to $58.09 per hour. Full-time employment includes a Monday through Friday schedule with rotating shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., located at Mayo Clinic campuses in Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology
- Bachelor's degree with completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program
- Requires experience using databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software
- Possess good written and oral communication skills

- A skills assessment test will be administered at the time of interview, and a PASS score is required to be considered

- Must have Florida Cytotechnologist License
- Individuals licensed in Florida prior to 1991 with two years of college and a one-year Cytology training program
- Employee obtaining CT certification(s) after January 1, 2004 or SCT certification after January 1, 2006 will be required to demonstrate evidence of ongoing maintenance of certification
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of digital pathology and/or telecytology is beneficial
