Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic evaluation of cytological specimens for abnormality, malignancy, or disease, and sign out negative gynecological reports. Provide on-site adequacy evaluation for fine needle aspiration procedures and core biopsies while supporting ancillary technique interpretations. Assist in training new employees or students, perform quality control activities, and gather data for continuous improvement projects. Foster an inclusive work environment and adhere to workload limits for accurate slide count documentation. This full-time role requires a Cytotechnologist (CT) or Specialist in Cytology (SCT) certification and a Florida license, with no visa sponsorship available. Schedule includes rotating shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with hourly compensation ranging from $38.71 to $58.09.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology
- Bachelor's degree with completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program
- Requires experience using databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software
- Possess good written and oral communication skills

- A skills assessment test will be administered at the time of interview, and a PASS score is required to be considered
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiar with cytopreparation techniques and specimen trouble shooting
- Triaging of specimen handling
- Develops knowledge and proficiency with LIS system
- Adheres to workload limits and maintains accurate documentation of slide counts and microscope maintenance
- Cytologist (CT, ASCP) or Specialist in Cytology (SCT, ASCP) certification required prior to start date
- Must have Florida Cytotechnologist License
- Individuals licensed in Florida prior to 1991 with two years of college and a one-year Cytology training program are qualified under Federal standards
- Employee obtaining CT certification(s) after January 1, 2004 or SCT certification after January 1, 2006 will be required to demonstrate evidence of ongoing maintenance of certification
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of digital pathology and/or telecytology is beneficial
