Job Summary
Cytology Technician Specialist needed to receive and access Cytology and Histology specimens in the lab information system, assist in training new employees, prepare biological specimens for examination/testing, classify cellular material, and review patient clinical history. Responsibilities include maintaining quality assurance reports, performing equipment maintenance, and upholding patient confidentiality. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Cytotechnology, ASCP certification in Cytotechnology, and 5-10 years of cytotechnologist experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Cytotechnology
- ASCP certification in Cytotechnology or equivalent required
- 5-10 years of experience working as a cytotechnologist in a high throughput lab
Desired Qualifications
- ASCP certification in Histology desired
- Training and experience in histology technical duties, including embedding, microtomy, and staining preferred
