Job Summary

Perform routine cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic laboratory testing under direct supervision, including specimen preparation, basic cell culture, harvesting, slide preparation, and staining. Assist with microscopic analysis, data collection, and preliminary result documentation while accurately recording activities in laboratory information systems. Adhere to laboratory safety standards, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements, reporting specimen issues or unexpected findings to senior staff. Maintain clean work areas, assist with equipment upkeep, monitor inventory, and participate in onboarding, training, and competency assessments. Hold a valid State of Florida Molecular Pathology Technologist license and possess a Bachelor's degree.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Valid State of Florida Molecular Pathology Technologist license
  • Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications
  • Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders
