Cytogenetic Technologist - Full Time - Day Shift - Pittsburgh

Analyze cells by scanning slides and evaluating chromosome spreads for numerical and structural aberrations using automated metaphase finders. Harvest cells, prepare slides with appropriate banding techniques, and capture karyotypes on computer systems. Perform quality control on reagent and chemical lot numbers while maintaining records. Transport specimens, review paperwork, contact physicians for additional information, and complete billing details. Increase understanding of cytogenetic principles through journals, meetings, and presentations to incorporate new techniques.
