Job Summary
Cytogenetic Pathology position at UPMC Magee in Pittsburgh, PA requiring analysis and interpretation of karyotyping, FISH, microarray, and Optical Genome Mapping (OGM) in oncological, prenatal, and postnatal specimens. Roles include Laboratory Director responsibilities, assisting Medical Director in operations, supervising cytogenetics staff, developing in-house assays, maintaining SOPs and quality control, and participating in education of residents/fellows and LGG/ACGME activities. The position integrates research, publishing, and collaboration with the Division of Molecular & Genomic Pathology, with academic rank/tenure and salary commensurate with experience; relocation assistance of $10,000 is provided. Qualifications emphasize MD/DO and/or PhD in Biology with ABMGG certification or eligibility in LGG or Cytogenetics, with priority given to oncology cytogenetics experience and development of new tests. The role is a full-time faculty appointment at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a participant in the UPMC/UPP faculty practice plan, with opportunities for teaching and extramural research funding.
