Job Summary
Analyze and interpret results for karyotyping, FISH, microarray, and OGM analysis in oncological, prenatal, and postnatal specimens while preparing and reviewing final test reports. Assist the Medical Director in supervising specimen handling, testing, and reporting operations, ensuring client and patient confidentiality. Develop and validate in-house assays for oncology applications, maintain standard operating procedure manuals, and direct technical staff in proficiency testing programs. Participate in educating Pathology and OB/GYN residents, fellows, and LGG trainees. Publish research, collaborate on new tests, and utilize available seed funding and resources for teaching and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO and/or PhD candidates in Biology
- ABMGG-Certified or Eligible for Certification in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG) or Cytogenetics
Desired Qualifications
- experience in cytogenetic testing of oncology specimens
- experience in development of new molecular and cytogenetic tests such as Optical Genome Mapping
