Job Summary
Plan daily activities addressing the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of children through SEL, STEAM, literacy, and Service-Learning initiatives. Supervise children's activities, enforce safety practices, and intervene positively when risks arise. Implement developmentally appropriate principles while documenting behavior, attendance, and incidents using Kindertales. Prepare classroom and play yard environments, maintain cleanliness, and remove potential hazards. Assist the Head Teacher with documentation, training meetings, and ensuring compliance with state regulations and program policies. Maintain visual supervision, report suspected abuse or neglect immediately, and follow all staff handbook procedures. Work Monday through Friday, 7 am–9 am and 2 pm–5:30 pm, reporting to the Head Teacher.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- One-year supervised experience working with children
- Commitment to obtain 3 credits in state approved courses that pertain to school age childcare, until a minimum of 12 credits is reached
- Must maintain compliance with OEC and BCIS Registries
- Must be flexible about site assignments and availability to work on extended days and the summer program
- Extended days being those days when school is closed, and Child Care is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
