Job Summary
Accurately fill and label medication orders according to established protocols, conduct regular inventory checks to manage stock levels, and collaborate with pharmacists to resolve discrepancies. Maintain detailed records of fills and inventory for compliance, assist in developing process improvements, and ensure adherence to all regulatory standards regarding medication handling. Provide guidance to junior staff and participate in ongoing training to stay current with pharmacy practices. Requires pharmacy technician licensure, proficiency in pharmacy management software, and ability to work 7 to 10 hours standing or sitting. Day, mid, and night shifts available with schedules subject to business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice
- Proficient in the use of pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing and documentation
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with staff and clients
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and compliance standards
- May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk
- May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
- May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy experience preferred
- one or more years of long-term care experience preferred
