Job Summary
Cybersecurity Practice Manager leads the cybersecurity department, owning standards, operational maturity, and service quality for managed security services. The role serves as the technical lead and primary security operator, overseeing SIEM and SOC operating standards, third-party security partner coordination, escalation quality, client risk visibility, and compliance support readiness. Responsibilities include setting departmental standards, managing performance and staffing, overseeing tooling and platform governance, managing incident response and root-cause analysis, and driving proactive security programs across multiple client environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align security with client objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT with a security focus
- 2+ years of people leadership or team lead experience
- Experience leading cybersecurity operations across SIEM, SOC, MDR, endpoint, identity, email security, vulnerability management, and incident response
- Experience managing cybersecurity tools, alert workflows, escalation paths, and third-party security partners
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security including Defender and Entra ID
- Experience with EDR platforms and email security controls (anti-phishing, impersonation protection, DMARC, DKIM, SPF)
- Experience investigating or overseeing security incidents (malware, phishing, ransomware, BEC, identity events)
- Ability to assess security risk across multiple client environments and translate into priorities and remediation plans
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong documentation and process design abilities
- Working knowledge of CIS Controls, NIST 800-171, HIPAA Security Rule, SOC 2 Trust Criteria
- Relevant certifications such as CISM, SC-200, CySA+, Security+, or equivalent; actively pursuing CISSP/CISSP
