Job Summary

Lead hands-on activities to monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threat activity while implementing, maintaining, and optimizing security content such as rules, signatures, and alerts to enhance threat detection. Provide expert guidance and recommendations to the ARPA-H CISO on modern policies, procedures, and processes for securing and defending the agency's systems. Serve as a Cybersecurity Operations Lead supporting SETA, applying deep technical expertise to maintain and improve cybersecurity products and implement solutions for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with cybersecurity, including substantial experience in security operations, incident response, threat detection, or defensive cyber operations
  • Experience leading security monitoring, incident investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and after-action activities
  • Experience using cybersecurity solutions such as SIEM, XDR, DLP, and Threat Intelligence platforms
  • Knowledge of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures, including the MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Experience interacting and communicating with senior-level executives, including SES or GS-15
  • Bachelor's degree

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity operations within a federal civilian agency
  • GCIH, GCIA, GCED, or comparable certification
