Job Summary
Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats and incidents across all systems, applications, and networks. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analyses while maintaining and updating security tools such as firewalls, SIEM, and endpoint detection systems. Develop and enforce information security policies, perform compliance audits against standards like NIST and HIPAA, and analyze breaches to implement future safeguards. Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to secure solutions, manage security awareness training, and prepare documentation for leadership and external auditors. Stay updated on emerging cyber threats to recommend risk mitigation strategies. This role reports to the Director of Information Security within the IT/Security department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles
- Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, vulnerability scanners)
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and endpoint protection
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
Desired Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC
- Experience working in a fully remote or distributed team environment
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation
