Job Summary
Cybersecurity Engineer position to design, implement, and harden secure system architectures across Navy combat and mission systems. Responsibilities include engineering and implementing security controls across compute, network, storage, identity and access management, operating systems, and application configuration; hardening to DoD/Navy requirements; performing vulnerability analysis and remediation; integrating security tools (EDR, SIEM, logging); collaborating with DevSecOps and platform teams to embed security into system design; evaluating supply chain and hardware security considerations; supporting rapid prototyping and OTA environments.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance
- 3–5 years of cybersecurity engineering experience in DoD or similarly regulated environments
- Experience securing infrastructure across multiple layers of the technical stack
- Hands-on experience with: Network architecture and segmentation; Windows and/or Linux hardening; Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.); Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes preferred); Identity solutions (Active Directory, PKI, RBAC models); Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and remediation in operational environments; Experience collaborating with infrastructure, systems, and software engineering teams; Understanding of secure configuration baselines and system hardening practices; DevSecOps or CI/CD security integration experience; Knowledge of embedded systems or hardware-level security considerations; Security+, CISSP, or comparable DoD 8570/8140 certification
