Job Summary
The Cybersecurity Engineer role involves implementing, maintaining, and documenting security controls for mission systems, ensuring compliance with government cybersecurity requirements and the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Key responsibilities include maintaining accreditation documentation, coordinating with security officials, supporting implementation of NIST SP 800-53 controls, and conducting vulnerability assessments. Candidates are required to have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly in enterprise or mission environments, with knowledge of NIST standards. Relevant certifications are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience in enterprise or mission environments
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-series and RMF
- Experience securing Windows and/or Linux systems
- Experience with vulnerability management and monitoring
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting RMF-authorized government systems
- Experience with NIST SP 800-53 control implementation and assessment
- Experience developing and maintaining SSPs
- Experience in classified or secure environments
- Relevant certifications (Security+, CISSP, CISM, CISA)
