Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary
Support implementation of security controls across cloud infrastructure, platforms, and applications; assist in maintaining DoD RMF/NIST 800-53 compliance; collaborate with engineers and architects to integrate security into system design; support vulnerability management and security assessments; assist in monitoring security posture and responding to findings; help implement identity and access management and least privilege; support development and maintenance of security documentation (SSPs, POA&Ms); participate in security assessments, audits, and authorization activities; support incident response and root-cause analysis; collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote secure development and operation practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or related roles
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Experience completing the RMF process from start to finish
- Experience creating and managing ATO packages in eMASS
- Familiarity with DoD security frameworks and NIST 800-53 Rev. 5
- Experience supporting vulnerability management and security assessments (including DISA STIG testing)
- Understanding of identity and access management concepts
- Familiarity with securing containerized environments and cloud-native applications
- Experience with security tools such as vulnerability scanners or SIEM platforms
- Experience implementing and analysing SAST for backend or full-stack applications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- CompTIA Security+ certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- U.S. Citizenship with active DoD clearance TS/SCI eligibility
