Job Summary

Monitor security alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and escalate issues to senior team members. Assist with phishing response, security awareness activities, and end-user guidance on secure practices. Support incident triage, evidence collection, documentation, and post-incident follow-up under the guidance of senior cybersecurity personnel. Help administer and support endpoint security tools, multi-factor authentication, VPN access, email security, and other foundational security controls. Contribute to compliance and audit-readiness efforts related to CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Maintain accurate documentation, support security projects, and collaborate across teams to improve the organization's overall security posture. This role offers a competitive salary range of $72,000 to $88,000 plus a 10% performance bonus, located in Los Angeles or Orange County, CA.

Required Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, common threats, security controls, and incident response concepts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows environments, endpoint protection, and general enterprise IT operations
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly, document work accurately, and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and good judgment
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, network administration, IT support, or a related technical role
  • Basic understanding of security tools, user access administration, endpoint protection, log review, or vulnerability remediation concepts
  • Willingness and ability to learn defense and aerospace cybersecurity requirements, including CMMC/NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and CUI handling practices

Desired Qualifications

  • Exposure to compliance frameworks such as CMMC and NIST SP 800-171
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, defense, or other regulated environment
  • Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+ and ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC); Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200) may be beneficial for candidates with relevant experience
