Job Summary
Provide foundational cybersecurity and IT support for Department of the Navy information systems in compliance with SECNAV M-5239.2. Maintain required certifications and training for all information systems, assist with POA&M updates, and track IAVM/patches. Support system authorization and continuous monitoring activities under the Risk Management Framework to generate control evidence. Utilize DOD-approved tools including DISA STIG Viewer, DISA SCAP Tool, Tenable ACAS, and McAfee HBSS/ePolicy Orchestrator to assess, remediate, and report system security posture. Requires 0–3 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree, CompTIA Security+ certification, and an Active DOD Secret clearance.
Required Qualifications
- 0–3 years of relevant civilian or military professional experience
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant field of study (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation and authorization process
- Exposure to or experience with DOD cybersecurity tools, including DISA STIG Viewer, DISA SCAP Tool, Tenable ACAS, and McAfee HBSS/ePolicy Orchestrator
- Active DOD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
Desired Qualifications
- Prior internship or hands-on experience in a DOD environment
- Completed coursework or additional entry-level certifications relevant to operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows Admin)
