Job Summary
Cyber Systems Engineer (Principal or Senior Principal) at Northrop Grumman. Candidate will design, develop, integrate, test, and verify system-security solutions across RMF implementations, producing artifacts such as SAP, SAR, RAR, SSP, POA&M, SCTM, and ConMon to obtain/maintain Authority to Operate. Role requires hands-on RMF experience with NIST SP 800-53 and SDLC milestones (PDR, CDR, SFR, TRR), embedding security controls in development pipelines, and strong communication with architects, developers, program managers, and auditors. Willingness to travel (10%). Relocation assistance may be available. Requires active Secret clearance or higher and ability to obtain SAP clearance; must meet education and experience requirements per Principal/Senior Principal levels. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant military/professional experience in Engineering, OR Master's degree in STEM with at least 3 years of relevant experience, OR PhD with at least 1 year of relevant experience in Engineering (Principal level)
- Active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with recent background investigation) or ability to obtain SAP clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance
- Active Secret clearance (required for government work)
- CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience developing RMF assessment/authorization artifacts per NIST SP 800-37; experience with NIST SP 800-53; knowledge of SDLC milestones (PDR, CDR, SFR, TRR) and associated deliverables
- Experience creating and maintaining RMF artifacts (SAP, SAR, RAR, SSP, POA&M, SCTM, ConMon)
- Hands-on experience with security compliance tools (ACAS, SCAP, STIG, SCC)
- Preferred: experience with NIST 800-160, MBSE, CSEG, cyber survivability, traceability of requirements across a system architecture
- Ability to work with architects, developers, program managers, and auditors across lifecycles
- U.S. Citizenship required for roles with government clearance
- Active/able to obtain SAP clearance and enrollment in Continuous Evaluation if applicable
- Active Secret clearance or higher (as applicable)
