Job Summary
Senior Cyber Systems Architect to design, secure, test, and advance mission-critical defense technologies for real-time embedded platforms and weapons systems. Architect and implement secure system designs for real-time embedded operating systems (RTOS, Linux variants) and processor-level solutions (ARM, PowerPC, x86). Lead embedded system testing (functional, performance, security validation) and secure processing/HPC initiatives. Apply deep CDS knowledge to enable secure information sharing across classified/unclassified domains, ensuring DoD and intelligence community standards. Engineer High Assurance Secure Computing solutions with formal verification, trusted hardware, and anti-tamper techniques. Oversee weapons systems integration in compliance with MIL-STD specifications and risk management frameworks (RMF/NIST). Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and security architecture planning; drive R&D in PQC, secure boot flows, RoT, and secure cryptographic engines. Collaborate with program managers and engineers to deliver secure, mission-ready defense solutions, and mentor junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
- BS or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or closely related discipline
- 20+ years of engineering experience in system security engineering, real-time embedded systems, and defense technologies
- Experience with real-time embedded operating systems (RTOS) and processor architectures
- DoD weapons systems and MIL-STD specifications
- Security-focused testing (HIL, automated test environments)
- Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) architectures and accreditation processes
- High Assurance Secure Computing (formal verification, trusted execution environments)
- Anti-Tamper (AT) design and evaluation techniques
- Post-Quantum Cryptography understanding
- End-to-End Security Architecture (secure boot, cryptographic engines, RoT)
- Education: BS or higher in relevant field
- Active engagement with enterprise and DoD risk management frameworks (RMF) or similar
