Cyber Strategy and Compliance Intern

Job Summary
Internship focused on Cyber Strategy and Privacy & Risk Consulting. You will assess client networks, determine impact and likelihood of security issues, perform analysis and testing of mobile and web applications, conduct internet penetration testing, review configurations and code, measure client compliance with industry/government requirements, identify leaked data from open/closed sources, investigate threat actors and campaigns, and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders. You will help create and review threat intelligence programs using established models and collaborate with consulting professionals holding credentials (CEH, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CTIA). A technical background in security and programming is required, with hands-on or lab experience in IT infrastructure, security tools, and security testing techniques. Preferable candidates are pursuing a related bachelor's degree and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Required Qualifications
- Technical background in computer science and cybersecurity related fields
- Strong knowledge of computer network technologies, protocols/topologies, digital forensics and endpoint protection, or threat intelligence
- Software development, programming and/or scripting experience (Perl, Python, C, Java, PHP, ASP, etc.)
- Ability to track threat actors across Dark Web criminal forums and marketplaces and communicate findings
- Ability to track malware campaigns and understand adversarial activity from an intelligence perspective
- Understanding of intelligence lifecycle, Kill Chain, Diamond model, and Priority Intelligence Requirements
- Strong written and oral communication skills for all levels of technical aptitude, including senior management
- High degree of integrity and confidentiality and ability to adhere to company policies and best practices
- Motivation for continuous improvement and learning
- Pursuing a B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent certification in relevant fields; minimum 3.0 GPA preferred (preferred, not required)
- Internship or practical experience with security infrastructure and tools (servers, firewalls, IDS, web servers, web applications)
- Familiarity with security testing techniques and vulnerability assessment tools
