Job Summary
Conduct network security monitoring and incident triage using IDS/IPS, firewall, proxy, router, Microsoft Windows, Fidelis, and HBSS logs. Enter event data into mission support systems, perform trend analysis of authorized and unauthorized activity, and correlate suspicious network activity across AFCENT/USCENTCOM. Assist in developing countermeasures to isolate intrusive activities, track Information Assurance Vulnerabilities Alerts, and produce security reports. Provide LAN/WAN support and document all security-related events in accordance with USCENTCOM/AFCENT policy. This full-time role supports the AFCENT Network Operations and Security Center at Shaw AFB, requiring a Secret clearance and specific certifications in security and networking.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in cyber and network operations
- Associate's degree in a related field
- Security+ certified
- Network+ or CCNA certified
- ITIL Foundations certification or be able to obtain the certification within 60 days of hire
- firewall, ACAS, and HBSS experience
- ability to define baseline security requirements in accordance with applicable guidelines
- experience and demonstrate an understanding of Microsoft server installation, roles, Active Directory, storage, performance management, and maintenance
- US citizen
- current Secret clearance
- eligibility requirements for access to classified information
