Job Summary
Cyber Security Officer at The National Archives leading the security posture across networks, cloud environments, and infrastructure. You will identify vulnerabilities, ensure accreditation, and guide remediation while overseeing compliance with security frameworks (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, GovAssure, and AI governance standards). Core responsibilities include incident response planning, monitoring security alerts (ERP Smart Audit), coordinating audits with third parties, and delivering cybersecurity training to staff to foster a robust security culture. The role requires collaboration across the organization, keeping policies and practices aligned with industry and government standards, and providing practical, actionable guidance to product owners and stakeholders. The position blends onsite and home-working with a requirement to travel regularly to the Kew site (minimum 60% time). Desirable certifications and a degree in cybersecurity or related field are noted. Sponsorship is not available. Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and understanding of cyber security frameworks and standards (including and good cyber practices, especially in the UK Government / Public sector)
- Demonstrable experience of working in a cyber security role preferably within a government or large organization
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage your workload
- Excellent problem-solving skills for routine and complex problems and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver training to a wide audience

- SC clearance is required for this role
