Job Summary
Manage firewall rules creation, change requests, rule optimization, NAT/VPN configuration, and firmware upgrades for Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto Networks platforms. Monitor traffic to identify anomalies, remediate security events, and maintain HA configurations with routing and logging integrations. Administer Tripwire policies and baselines to investigate integrity violations, while configuring Imperva security policies and tuning signatures to balance protection and usability. Triage alerts, conduct root-cause analysis, and coordinate remediation for security incidents. Ensure firewall rule changes align with requests and complete firmware upgrades with rollback plans. Submit updated tickets, network diagrams, and change records to support audits and evidence collection for regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on expertise with Fortinet FortiGate (policies, VPN, routing, HA, SD-WAN, logging)
- Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (policies, NAT, App-ID, User-ID, Panorama)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, NAT, SSL/TLS, DNS)
- Experience in incident response, change management, and documentation
- Ability to work independently with a focus on accuracy, speed, and risk reduction
- Clear communication with stakeholders and change advisory boards
- Structured problem-solving and risk-based decision-making
- Ownership mindset with strong time management for a contract environment
