Job Summary

Design, implement, and support cyber security technology solutions for cloud applications, infrastructure, and platform security. Provide technical administration including troubleshooting, break-fix operations, patching, and daily support for relevant applications. Maintain operational documentation, conduct trend analysis, and assist with research, proof-of-concept, and technology selection. Participate in security incident response activities, post-event reviews, and subject-matter expertise support for business areas and vendors. Explore new technologies to improve business processes and efficiency while adhering to operational standards and risk management programs. Support governance administration, compliance with regulations, and disciplined change management practices. May offer guidance to junior engineers and maintain on-call rotation for security technologies. This role is onsite in Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, or Charlotte, NC, with a target salary range of $89,329.90 to $122,940.00.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • six (6) years of related post-secondary education and/or experience in Information Security and/or Information Technology
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • This position is intended to be onsite
  • Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week
  • Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position
  • relocation would be at your expense
  • The locations available for this role are Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, or Charlotte, NC
  • Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position at this time
  • Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting demands
  • Knowledge of common web technologies, cloud technologies, and enterprise and network architecture
  • Knowledge of defense in depth, trust levels, privileges, and permissions
  • Knowledge of modern security tools and controls
  • Problem-solving skills to offer sound solutions to issues
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and evaluative thinking capability

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Applicable technology and/or security certifications (e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), etc.)
  • Development experience with Python 3.x
  • Knowledge of, or experience with Python frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI)
  • Experience with GitHub or similar platforms and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience integrating with systems via REST APIs
  • Experience with data exchange formats (JSON, XML, CSV)
  • Familiarity with batch processing, JCL (Job Control Language, and dataset management
  • Experience administering or integrating with RACF security
  • Familiarity with mainframe identity and access management concepts
  • Familiarity with mainframe data formats (VSAM, flat files, EBCDIC)
  • Experience with COBOL, PL/I, or other mainframe languages
  • Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Powershelll)
  • Understanding of enterprise security practices
  • Experience with authentication/authorization practices across platforms
  • Awareness of auditing and compliance requirements tied
  • Familiarity with containerization and cloud platforms is a plus
