Cyber Security Engineer

Job Summary

Oversee security product and static code reviews while providing subject matter expertise on cyber security asks. Harden systems during implementation by managing Active Directory, LDAP, PKI, and SSO across multiple domains within the Microsoft ecosystem. Develop CI/CD pipelines in Azure to support software engineering teams and deploy code securely. Work with the Software Engineering team to ensure all systems are properly hardened. Provide oversight on security processes in the Government sector, including AAA principles and IAM/PAM applications. This role supports a federal customer in the Washington DC area, requiring US Citizenship for a Department of Energy security clearance. Edgewater Federal Solutions is an ISO and CMMI Level 3 certified government contractor focused on supporting customer missions through exceptional services.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Department of Energy security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in cyber security, information technology or related field or equivalent experience working in field
  • 7 years of experience supporting IT with 3+ years in cybersecurity
  • Security certification must have Security+ or higher (CISSP)
  • Strong understanding of Security processes in the Government sector
  • Strong understandings of AAA – Authentication, Authorization and Accounting principles
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Ecosystem such as Azure, Intune, PowerBI, Defender security stack (such as Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Cloud)
  • Knowledge in Splunk, Tenable, Firepower, WebInspect, ForcePoint, and Identity and Privileged Access Management (IAM/PAM) applications such as Safegaurd
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and/or LDAP management, configuration or design, PKI, SSO across multiple domains, MFA
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Kanban
  • Understanding of CI/CD integration
  • Provide oversite in Security Product Reviews and Static Code Reviews
  • Provide subject matter expertise on cyber security asks
  • Work onsite one or two days a month
  • Candidates local to the Washington, DC area

  • Knowledge in Sentinel and Logic Apps
  • Azure DevOps for management of daily work
  • Microsoft Certifications
  • Understanding of networking
  • Experience working in field (equivalent to Bachelor's degree)
