Job Summary
Cyber Security Engineer responsible for designing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining core security technologies (SIEM platforms, vulnerability management tools, EDR, data loss prevention, IDS/IPS). Ongoing duties include evaluating threat intelligence, conducting vulnerability assessments, developing dashboards to track security posture, and supporting Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) investigations with advanced response actions and forensic analysis. Collaboration with IT Operations and applications teams to troubleshoot complex security issues, perform risk assessments, and threat modeling to strengthen security for new technologies and initiatives. Onsite in Erwin, TN with occasional after-hours support; requires a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, US citizenship, and ability to obtain DOE clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Cyber Security, or a related field
- Two (2) or more years of relevant IT or Cyber Security experience
- Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems knowledge
- Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects
- SIEM administration
- Intrusion detection and prevention system administration
- Endpoint detection and response tool administration
- Advanced cyber security toolkits for malware analysis and digital forensics
- Familiarity with NIST frameworks, DISA STIGs, and cyber security best practices
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOE clearance (preferred for role)
